ABOUT

John's been a Blues guy since he figured out what that music was... First time he heard it, he was bit!

Before leaving Virginia, he served as the Vice President of the Fredericksburg Blues Society, where he met and formed a few regional Blues bands. The last, The Dear Johns Blues Band, and his partnership with Gaye Adegbalola saw a lot of success, touring and gigging regularly.

Since moving West to be close to some of his kids and grandkids, John's been playing with a few more bands. Most recently with The Turnarounds here in Southern California.

John's style crosses a lot of boundaries and styles. He pulls from Chicago, Mississippi, the West Coast, and Piedmont styles. His electric playing can be gentle or fiery! His acoustic playing and slide playing emotive. His singing can be soft or growly.
