Looking for something creative and unusual to get involved in. Have played in a lot of different kinds of bands over the years in San Francisco and have done shows at most of the small clubs including the Parkside, Cafe Du Nord, Hotel Utah, Make Out Room, Brick and Mortar etc.

I've got a strong liking (and ear) for bass lines that do a lot more than just hold the root -- John Entwistle, Mike Watt, Bruce Thomas, Mike Mills. Not that I'm necessarily looking to play that kind of music -- I'd be just as happy doing something noisy/aggressive, or more groove driven. Not a technique diva -- I'll play to the song and am fine with keeping it simple where appropriate. I play with both fingers and pick, whatever works best for the bass line and the tune.

I like to come up with my own parts but am also fine playing existing parts. I write songs occasionally, but I'm strongest at arranging and structuring songs. Can do limited backup vox if required.

I'm also a guitarist (and average drummer), though mostly want to play bass.

Preference for situations based in San Francisco.
