I started off playing bass in a band with my father in 92'. We did 60's and 70's covers. Rolling Stones, Beatles, ZZ Top, Allman Brothers, Hendrix, Rush, Devo, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd.
In Highschool played in an Alternative band, STP, Soundgarden Pearl Jam, etc.
After highschool played in a metal band similar to Lamb of God, Slipknot, Mudvayne. Did 3 albums of originals.
Been in 3 cover bands since playing anything from Nickelback to Megadeth.
I use a lot of techniques. Pluck, pick, slap, strum, tap, etc.
I am a bass player. I'm not trying to be the front man. I do my job. Get at me drummer and lets lock it down. I do put in fills and can do some walking bass lines all day but I'm in the support group.
