I'm a songwriter, vocalist, bassist, rhythm guitarist, and band leader. As of spring 2022, I am looking for a drummer to complete my new 4-piece band in Flagstaff focused on original music, with select covers for viability. We have plenty of complete original songs ready to gig once we find the right, committed drummer willing to learn the arrangements, lay down a solid pocket, and add their flair to the rhythm section to take the songs to the next level. (The worktapes posted here are just crude recordings of me playing all the parts and using a drum machine to share ideas with the rest of the band. They are meant to give you an idea of what the songs in-progress sound like for this project)
I try to write original and meaningful lyrics, while keeping the music accessible with catchy melodies. As a player, I focus on creating memorable grooves that serve the song without over-playing. As a bandleader, I like things well-rehearsed, but prefer simple, heartfelt songs to progressive music, quick setup and teardown to elaborate gear.
I am a past winner of Creative Flagstaff's Viola Award. I understand the rewards and challenges of a full-time creative life. I bring a solid eye for marketing, promotion, art direction, and written communication to any project. Our press kit should be every bit as good as the music from day one.
