ABOUT

burmaunderground is the musical organ for Midwestern raised and Oakland based singer/songwriter Robert Detman, who has been attempting to write perfect rock songs since the late nineties.

The enticing harmonies and soulful mash of sounds was first brewed in a kitchen in San Francisco’s Mission District in the early 2000’s and flourished via an acoustic guitar, a borrowed electric piano, effects found and created, reversed analog tape, and the rain coming down on a lonely Saturday night.

The songcraft of burmaunderground is a realm of hooks galore, sincere yet unsentimental–and emotionally unsparing—writing, with an experimental and exploratory bent in production that aims to deliver intriguing audio slices.
