I’ve been trying to play music since I was 15 and found an old beat-up Spanish guitar at my grandparents house. I soon got a Harmony bass and a tiny Yamaha sampler keyboard, and I was off! I’ve mostly played original songs/jams, mainly because I couldn’t really copy other players, as much as I wanted to. I played bass and keys in a four-piece rock band, Peprhed, that morphed into a 3-piece called Mass, in my hometown of San Antonio, TX. It was an awesome experience, mainly because I got to play my friend Jake’s brilliant songs. After years of trying to make something happen, I moved to San Francisco and had a few promising band experiences, but nothing that lasted.
In the Bay Area I started to attend improvised noise jams and ended up in a noise band called Ear Spray for over ten years, even playing NorCal Noisefest in Sacramento a few times. I improvised many performances using various synths, sound modules, and effects. I’m also proud to have recorded piano and organ on my friend’s album, Alabaster Adams & the Original Bastards. Which brings me to the present. Just looking for a few like-minded folks to jam with, or write originals or interpret covers. I’ve taken up the bass again, and always bounce around from bass, guitar, or keyboards/synths when I’m jamming at home. When asked I always say I’m a bass player though.
