If you are looking for someone who loves all forms of music, and can play almost anything by ear on the spot, I'm your guy. I would love to so session work too, and currently developing my knowledge of music theory. I can read music slowly, but mostly intuitively know what to play. I'm looking for a band that knows what rock and roll really means, but not just rock. Pop, soul, and a little jazz would be cool too, even country and rap. I like variety and mostly interested in writing and recording original songs, but covers are okay.

Influences
I started out copying Carlos Santana, Journey, the Beatles, Beach Boys, and the Byrds. I really like melodic playing. Then I got into Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, and Blue Oyster Cult. The next year I discovered Wham, Madonna, and Spyro Gyra. I know it sounds crazy, but like I said, I like all kinds of music and I know just about all the classic bands from Todd Rundgren, REO Speedwagon, Rush, the Eagles, and I love Jackson Browne. I also love Disco, dance, like Duran Duran, alternative rock like the Cranberries, Smiths, and Depeche Mode (Policy of Truth) and any music you can dance to, especially Nile Rodgers and Chic. I love soul like the Spinners, O'jays, and Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes. At some point when I was in my twenties I threw away all my rock albums that had a dark message, in favor of Christian music exuding a spirit of joy. Although I am still a Christian, I no longer believe that musicians who create dark music are evil. I accept people with different points of view nearly as much as Will Rogers. My favorite bands lately are Lady A (Antebellum) and Small Town Pistols. I have been revisiting the Desert Rose Band and John Mayer, both whose musicianship I admire. I value creativity and originality in music above all.

EQUIPMENT
I play Fender and Gibson guitars, and Marshall and Fender amplifiers. I use a few effects pedals and have various sound processors like a Line 6 Pod Go for plugging directly into a board. I record with Ableton Suite 10 on a Mac. I also have an old Yamaha acoustic from the 1970's for traditional sounds and a Larivee for really beautiful sounds.
