Influences
My influences are a wide range from “Bakersfield” styles (like Dwight Yoakum, Buck Owens, Everly Brothers, and the Mavericks) to Surf/Rockabilly (the Ventures, the Sandals, Dick Dale, Duane Eddy, Brian Setzer) to Reggae (Bob Marley, Pepper, Soja, Rebelution) to Americana (Tom Russell, Mike McClure Band, Jerry Jeff Walker, Chris Issac), Punk (like Bad Religion, Reel Big Fish, not pop punk so much), Bluegrass (Chris Thille, Jimmy Martin, Ricky Skaggs) and Jazz (Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, Bill Evans, Billie Holiday, Nora Jones, Joe Pass). I also love to play classical/finger-style guitar. Mateo Carcassi is my favorite classical composer. I love classic rock (Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, the Who, AC/DC) and the blues (SRV, Muddy Waters, T-Bone Walker, Freddie King, and Jack White). I’m sure I left many of my favorites off this list.
