ABOUT

I have recently retired at the age of 62. Finding myself with nothing to do, I am considering joining a band who needs a helping hand. Personally, I am beyond the age where I suffer from delusions of grandeur, my intentions are just to have fun and make some music with some other of like minds and like tastes. Presently, I am practicing more to bring myself up to a more professional level. I know lots of songs, but master of none. My preferred band setting would be a combo or trio playing the more softer side of music. If anybody plays a keyboard, another acoustic guitar, bass, drums- along with a female singer and male singer, I maybe your man. Personally. I do not think I am much of a singer; I would be content to play in the background and let the singers shine. I grew up in the 1960's and the 1970's, therefore, that's where my preferred taste lie where music is concerned. My absolute favorite band is The Beatles; all of the bands of the British Invasion of the 60's, I also, love. Motown, the pop of the 60's bring back fond memories. As for the music of the 70's, all the classic rock bands, the pop songs ( especially the early 70's) also, will evoke fond memories.
Lately, I have been concentrating on some Moody Blues songs such as:
Tueday Afternoon;
For My Lady;
Ride My Seesaw;
The Story in Your Eyes;
The Question.

Besides The Moody Blues, I have randomly learned ( and partially forgot) many songs in the past couple of months such as:

You Are the Sunshine of My Life;
For Once in My life;
My Girl;
Sad Eyes;
Highway Song;
Simple Man ( both Lynyrd Skynyrd and Lobo songs - and both different);
Tuesday's Gone;
Paint It Black;
Lady Jane:
Mother's Little Helper;
All Summer Long;
In My Room;
Help Me Rhonda;
Good Vibrations;
Carefree Highway;
Sundown;
Casey Jones;
Vincent;
Sunshine on My Shoulders;
Let It Be;
Hello Goodbye;
The whole Abbey Road albumn;
Dark Side of the Moon ( entire albumn);
Didn't I Blow Your Mind;
Me and Mrs Jones;
You Make Me Feel Brand New;
Dancing in the Moonlight;
She's Gone;
Sara Smile;
Magic (by Pilot);
Telephone Line;
Beegees songs ( both 60's and 70's);
Undun;
These Eyes;
Laughing;
No Time;
Green-Eyed Lady;
Venus;
Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting;
Bennie and the Jets;
Daniel;
Rocket Man;
Your Song;
Harmony;
Into the Great Wide Open;
Don't Back Down;
Don't Do Me Like That;
Breakdown;
Running Down a Dream;
My Girl;
Make It With You;
Guitar Man;
Tequila Sunrise;
Take It Easy;
Take It to the Limit

These are just of a few songs I have worked on to a greater or lesser degree; and may I remind the curious reader of this post; master of none.
