ABOUT

I have been playing bass for over 30 years. Started off playing trombone through middle school and high school. Did take a music theory class in college. Didn't learn anything. Currently playing in a church band (some of the best musicians that I've ever played with). I have played in blues bands, rock bands, some country (don't really care for playing country music) dabbled a little with jazz and reggae. I'm pretty much an easy going open minded person. Would like to find other musicians who have the same interests in music. Just to jam with or form a band. Nothing major, just local stuff.

Influences

I'm influenced by so many. Carol Kaye, Paul McCartney, Jack Bruce, John Paul Jones. When I started playing the bass, it was Steve Harris of Iron Maiden that I tried to emulate the most. Yes, I can play maiden. I don't slap but I like Marcus Miller a lot. The list goes on and on.

EQUIPMENT

After years of playing I have gone through a lot of equipment. Peavy was my first bass and amp. Owned everything from Fender to Warwick, from Eden to Ampeg. Since I'm currently not in a band other than Sunday morning church service. I'm down to just an Ibanez bass and a cheap Crate amp. I use a Zoom pedal as my DI box. Doesn't mean that I can't or won't get the gear to match whatever it is that I'm doing.
