I began playing piano at age 6, took 10 years of lessons. Took up drums at age 10, played sporadically through college, then took a break until about age 45. Since then I have focused on jazz, classic rock, oldies, R/B, 80s, and some 90s forward. In the past 10 years, I have been in several Beatles tribute and classic rock bands, plus have done some jazz and session work.

I currently the drummer and backing vocalist in three bands:
- Doors tribute band Open Doors
- Female-fronted covers band Bad Doctor
- Classic top-40 band The Resistance
In addition, I have subbed for Bay Area staples The Back Pages, Ticket To Ride, and Satchmo's Ghost
