Expressions Choir is a contemporary, experimental vocal ensemble that brings people from all over the Bay Area together to discover the joy of singing in themselves and share that with others. From our own arrangements of beloved songs, to originals, to improvisational composition, we express ourselves in various ways that circle around the central flame of music as a medium of connection.

We have been together for a year now and after a wonderful season, are looking to continue expanding and welcoming in more singers who resonate with our eclectic community. The type of music we do falls into three main categories. 1) Covers, which range from 70's soul-funk to folk to classical. 2) Originals, composed by one of our two directors. 3) Improvisational music, somewhat in the style of Bobby McFerrin's circle singing, but often expanded upon.

We meet once a week, usually just the choir, but sometimes with our three piece band (bass, drums, guitar). One a month we open the rehearsal to focus on improvisation and welcome in friends and other singers from outside the choir to come join us.

We always perform at least once per "season" and are excited to be stepping in to more performance opportunities as our group grows. Please send a message if you have any further questions!
