With his debut album, Brave New World, DeFraties allows us a very personal glimpse into the last 3 years of his life as he moved his family from the only home he’s ever known to a place where he knew no one. “I really took a cinematic eye to each song. Every note, chord, rhythm and effect serves the mood of the song and supports the lyrics.”
“Sharing this music has made me vulnerable,” DeFraties writes, “But that’s what music is about. Honesty–your struggles, your triumphs, your fears, your concerns. Our social world is so neatly framed, honesty and vulnerability are hard to come by. But those struggles are what connect us. I think that is why in the worst of times, music is the thing people turn to for hope and community.”
