ABOUT

Endowed with a clear, beautiful voice, a sure sense of swing, and a seemingly innate sense of the nuances of jazz phrasing, Hale Baskin performs music from the American Songbook as well as lesser known jazz standards. Hale performs with bands of any size. Usually she is accompanied by her trio/ensemble or her swinging bigband for your dancing pleasure.
Hale’s performances are electrifying and full of energy. She’s opened the San Jose Jazz Festival, sang with both the Count Basie and Mike Vax big bands and been heard over NPR Radio as well as toured Europe and performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival.

Hale ended her 2005 performance schedule with 12 shows and a New Years Eve party performing with Arturo Sandoval and his band at Yoshi’s in Oakland. “What a professional and high energy New Years Eve Party!” Hale will always be welcome in my band”... legendary trumpeter, Arturo Sandoval

Hale's bands consist of seasoned professionals, some of the bay areas best most dependable and talented musicians. A typical jazz ensemble consists of bass, drums, piano/keyboard, horn and vocalist.
