At the age of six while his father was playing the accordion, Henry was playing along, creating accompanying beats & rhythms on the accordion case.
Back in India where he was attending high school, because he couldn't afford to buy a complete set of drums, he found a broken snare and a broken tom from the school's music room and used them to practice playing drums. He would place them on a chair and use a pair of his dad's slippers turned upside down...one as a pedal and the other as a hi-hat...drumsticks weren't easy to come by, so he would cut tree branches and use them to practice on his makeshift set.
With daily practice he quickly became one of the most well-known drummers in Calcutta, India at the young age of 15.
Later in England, he studied 'Music Theory' at the prestigious Trinity College of Music and freelanced with various bands of various musical styles....everything from rock to Latin to middle eastern to Zydeco!
*After moving to America, his sister bought him a drum set and he started working with Latin, Gipsy, American and Mediterranean bands. At the same time he joined the Musicians Institute (M.I.) of Hollywood as a full time student and graduated from the Percussion Institute of Technology department.
