ABOUT

My sets are very eclectic. When ask, I tell people that I play Bluesy Jazzy Folk Rock. I do mostly original songs with a mix of covers by Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Dave Carter, Bob Dylan and more. I go from mellow, pretty finger picking ballads to edgy, driving foot stomping rockers. I love working on and performing live at which I have volumes of experience. The level of collaboration that I am seeking is flexible from other artists learning my material, collaborating on composing their parts to composing and writing songs together. ./jamesfaretheewell

Influences

Too many to list, everything I hear from birds singing to buses, chainsaws, the sound of the Sun rising and all of the music I have ever heard from Mozart to the Sex Pistols but you are looking for artists so I would say in lyrics and song writing Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. In music composition, I think that my influences run from Classical Composers to Texas Blues, salt and peppered with a little jazz and
Gypsy.

EQUIPMENT

Acoustic I play a Breedlove Orchestra Model which I play though some effects, preamp and direct box into two QSC K 10 1000 watt powered speakers. Electric I play a semi hollow electric through a 30 watt tube amp with two 10's I get compliments on my tone everytime I plug in.
