ABOUT

My name is Justin. I have played professionally in California for Earl Thomas (blues), Willie Jaye (aka Willie J Laws), and Big Bones. In the 1990's I had a band in San Francisco called Sativa Blue; we did about 150 gigs per year and recorded 3 albums at Mr. Toad's (San Francisco). Played or recorded with: Leo Nocentelli & Zigaboo Modeliste (the Meters), Jorge Santana (Malo), Carlos Hernandez (Santana Brothers), Greg Errico (Sly & the Family Stone), Ramrod (Grateful Dead), Lucky Peterson (blues), the Johnny Otis Band (Lucky & Nicky Otis), and Larry Davis (Texas Flood/SRV). I have played hundreds of gigs in the Bay Area and toured in Southern California, Las Vegas, and New Orleans.

EQUIPMENT

I play Paul Reed Smith Custom guitars through a Mesa Boogie Mark Five with no other effects except an occasional Cry Baby wah pedal. I still have a couple of Stratocasters that I break out for variety. I started learning classical guitar at age 7 from a student of Andres Segovia.
