Born in 1953 and always had an ear for music so I have absorbed the music of the 50's and 60's. I went on to appreciate the popular music from the best composers and jobbed in public and private clubs in Detroit and Michigan since 1970. Very experienced in a vast catalog of the popular songs from the 30's forward to present. Not limited to, but especially well versed in the classics from the American songbook, ... Porter, Gershwin, Berlin, Kern, Arlen, Mercer, etc., as well as hundreds of movie and show themes. Have played in small combos since the age of 17 playing background dinner music, dancing and listening music for private parties, weddings, anniversaries, etc.. very professional and responsible side-man.
Would love to join a small combo with piano/keyboard and/or guitar(s), drums, and a strong lead instrument like sax, etc. Would be interested in playing smaller venues no more than a couple nights a month.
