ABOUT

My name is Jordan Steen, I'm originally from Los Angeles CA and I'm in the Philly area for grad school. I've been playing off and on (mostly on) since 2007. I started off playing rock and pop then moved into metal, before getting into playing more experimental in recent years. I've played in several bands since I started playing. First a rock/pop cover band. Then a nu-metal band for a couple of years, which later became a metal-core band for 3 years. In college I played in two bands, one was a metal core band and the other was a sludge/crust band. After the two bands broke up I played gross instrumental metal in a trio for a while.

Outside of music I like a lot of nerdy and outdoors activities. I've been told that I'm pretty laid back, and I'm excited to start jamming. If you're looking for a drummer and are in the area please shoot me an email at jsteenelon.edu

Influences

I like to play a lot of different genera, my favorite bands to practice to are Streetlight Manifesto, Circa Survive, SCIENCE era Incubus and Death Grips, other notable bands are Count your Blessings era Bring Me the Horizon and Arctic Monkeys, Absolution era Muse, Crystal Castles, Lorde, Leper, System of a Down etc.

Despite playing in mostly metal and hard rock bands for the majority of my musical career, I'd be more than happy to play a different genera of music, anything from funk to acoustic to punk, it all sounds good.

EQUIPMENT

All my gear is sitting in a closet in California so I have nothing here with me. I would need a kit to play on, but I usually play a very minimal drum set to begin with so I don't need anything too fancy.
