I am currently in a band that is writing original music and playing shows in the Detroit Metro area. We are entertaining the idea of bringing in a keyboard/electronics type person to fill out the sound and add ambiance. Chops aren't as important as creativity and flexibility. Backing vocals are a plus.
Our style is varied, we blend many genres into a ambient/progressive/shoegaze feel.
think mogwai, red sparrows, explosions in the sky, team sleep, with a little umphrey's mcgee, genesis, rush, gentle giant.

i play drums and percussion, played percussion in several music ensembles through out college including symphonic wind ensemble, orchestra, new music ensemble, percussion ensemble, marching band, winter drumline, drum and bugle corps, steel drum band. I have played drum kit in cover bar bands as well as original hardcore, metal, post-hardcore, indie, progressive and funk/hip hop bands.
I slowly teaching myself guitar, I can learn easy songs and make my way through face-books but I wouldn't call myself a guitar player.
