ABOUT

I got my first bass when I was 12. I should be a lot better by now. I'm involved in a band called "The Hotrods". We have a lot of fun playing mostly 50s, 60s, 70s, and a few handpicked songs from 80s - 2000s. We were likely to play on most weekends, until the pandemic, slowed us to once a month. I would like to play more, but frankly, a lot of really talented musicians, have been there & done that, and don't really want to do the work. It should be more fun than it is work, but, if you want to be good, it takes some work. Our band has been together for a decade, and recently decided to expand our horizons a bit. We added a horn section, and really started to fine tune our show. Unfortunately, in the process, we lost a talented singer/guitarist, leaving an opening in our band. Our players range in age from 32 to 69 years, & we get along great. We have some gigs booked, so if this sounds interesting, don't put it off. You all know how it works. Influences

as a young boy, I saw elvis on tv. Then I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. An older kid up the street had a band and showed us that regular people could learn to play & really have a band. 60s & 70s are my favorites, but John Lennon said (concerning Ringo's album of 40s music) "a good song is a good song". I probably should have just said, the Beatles, and everyone they influenced.
