I'm mostly self-taught on flute and saxophone. copying solos on albums. practices patterns and exercises like Oliver Nelson's Patterns for Saxophone. I've had a year or more lessons on drums and congas. Most interested in playing congas. My love is mostly jazz (hard bop), salsa, Funk, the blues and R&B in that order. I have a good sense of rhythm and a good ear. I'm interested in mostly jamming with others who aren't so much interested in playing songs/tunes but want to explore ways of playing with who is there and developing a sound out of that rather than imposing a style or sound from others.
