ABOUT

Mike Schuppan was born in St. Louis Missouri where he picked up his first guitar at age 6. By age 10 he was mimicking artists such as Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and Chuck Berry. At 13 Mike moved to Nashville with his parents and soon learned that the city had more to offer than country music. He started going to local blues jams where he quickly earned the reputation of “the kid that gots soul,” and within a year he had begun to play regularly with several blues and rock legends. He moved on to write songs with greats such as Michael McDonald (Doobie Brothers), John Bettis and John Hiatt just to name a few.

Mike has recorded four albums and played on many more. He has toured professionally over the past few years, including the latest world tour with Nine Inch Nails from 2008-09. Mike is also an accomplished audio engineer, working with artists such as Garth Brooks, Lucinda Williams, John Hiatt, Larry Carlton, Phil Keaggy, Vince Gill, Steve Winwood and many others. He has been a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences since 2002.

As a professional guitarist, songwriter, producer and Pro Tools→ certified engineer, Mike brings many gifts and talents to the projects he works on.
