Hi there. My name's matthew and I am a working bass player looking for a new project to sink my teeth into. My main gig is with the band Wheatus (/wheatus), and I'm currently looking for another project I can get involved with locally (though occasional touring is also definitely do-able).
I play 4 and 5 string bass, and can play upright or electric (though I may not currently have access to an upright... I'll get back to you on that if you're interested). I also love working in multi-instrumental projects and am capable of playing some guitar, keys, ukulele, accordion, and percussion if necessary. At my core, I'm a fan of well-written indie pop/rock music and love bands that push genre boundaries and come up with innovative arrangements and instrumentation. They Might Be Giants, The Magnetic Fields, Ben Folds, Bright Eyes, Ween, Eels, etc. are some examples of what I'm into. I'm NOT interested in bands who focus more on their image than the music.
