We are looking for a dynamic drummer/percussionist who is capable of creating deep grooves in odd meters for a wholly original theatrical "talk" opera. You will be asked to play a mind-bending drum solo during the show. You will be playing in odd time with a flamenco-jazz guitarist and a funk bassist. All pieces are instrumental and cinematic in nature, intense and entertaining. Your rhythms will be featured in a wild, comedic and utterly psychedelic rollercoaster ride in an artistic mind.
Do not reply if you cannot commit the necessary time and energy to play complex music in a riveting way. We are looking for the rare musician who has the courage to break the boundaries of what has been achieved before, and set a new standard for what's possible. We offer a platform to play with world-class performers in a way that highlights you. You will receive an equal share of profits with the composer and the other musicians, should you become a member.

SYNOPSIS:
You are about to take a surreal and operatic voyage into the mind of V: a power trio
whose symphonic vignettes defy conventional theatre at every level. Visceral, bold,
absurd; the show is a cinematic opus that captures you, takes you hostage, and awes you
over and over with the wicked and wailing wit of its narrative, and the emotional depth of
its sonic odyssey.
Nine pieces. Five movements. Three musicians. One orator.
Come inside. V takes you into an Out-of-Body Experience through the cosmos, into the
dizzying realms of comicality and artistic ferocity. The sets are otherworldly. The lights
are supernatural. The music is fierce, sophisticated and magical. You are now within the
dream world of a mad-hatter visionary, in the midst of a hallucinatory hurricane.
The performances are akin to Shakespearean earthquakes, tornados and fires.
As your mind gets immersed in the flood of musical energy, listen closely to the small
still voice inside you; a clarion call from your conscience. Feel it cutting through the
vapid banality of modern-world distractions to the sanity of your heart. Its message is a
cry for revolution, a demand for change; a metamorphoses in human consciousness from
the dark chrysalis of consumerism and ignorance.
"Defy your fear!" It demands.
THE PLAYERS:
At the heart of this performance piece is the entertainer V; a verbal and
musical virtuoso who ridicules, provokes, and mocks the dominant culture with
belligerent glee.
Imagine if Jesus, the Joker, and Jimi Hendrix were one person; delivering a kaleidoscopic
monologue with rapid-fire rhythmic intensity like a verbal machine gun wielded by a
madman rapper on a mission from God... all while playing guitar, then you have an idea
of what is to come.
Channeling dozens of characters, V burrows into various taboo subjects such as sex,
politics, religion, race, society, and drugs. Both his black observational comedy and
philosophical reflections balloon into full explorations of exaggerated possibilities. The
satirical wordplay of his sarcasm weaves audiences into a tapestry of sublime madness
and laughter.
Yet the musical interludes on V's nylon-stringed guitars may also make you weep.
Both his technique and tone are like verses in a Chekhov story, deceptively simple yet
profound. The melodies captivate with classical poignancy. The rhythms avalanche in
cascading waves of emotion, leaving listeners spellbound.
The Bass player and drummer complete the power trio.
This description, however, does not reveal the depth of the artistry, poise, and exuberant
skill of their genius. The bass players knack for odd-metered pocket grooves and the percussive
wizardry of the drummers beats are a wonder to behold. They are, in fact, hypnotic.
Both artists have featured solos on their instruments.
The bass player defines the new standard of gutter-funk bass grinds with his bass solo; drawing in
his audience with a propulsive rhythmic feel. His sense of time and space are Einsteinian,
warping listeners in an elegant relativity dance; splattered with the thumping boom, bang
and cracking pops of low deep bass. It's impossible to sit still while he compels you with
the roar of his instrument.
The drummer's drum solo will be as groundbreaking in the world of percussion as the moon landing
was for space travel. His rhythms go where no drummer has gone before; pounding our
heads like psychedelic fireworks bursting across a darkened Fourth of July sky. The drummer
drums the way Aretha Franklin sings: with oceanic power and deep soul. You taste the
joyous bounce of his beats as they cadence in ways that surprise you even as they feel
inevitable. Your mind spins. Your eyes smile. Your feet tap. And it feels good.
Both players commit unspeakable energy and creative power into their solos. The result
is a supernatural experience that cannot be forgotten.
PURPOSE:
Together, the three musicians form V, whose mission statement is to lead the way into the
exceptional and fantastic. The lifework of V is to stretch beyond the farthest reaches of
imagination through authentic expression, while avoiding any similarity to anything
mainstream or banal.
Always pushing boundaries. Never satisfied with stagnation. Every plateau touched, then
transcended.
In V, nothing less than extraordinary will do.
