ABOUT

I can sightread and transcribe and write decent arrangements. I tend to transcribe everything I do.
Or I can just have fun playing without any of that.. I like to get paid, but don't have to. I find that musicians that never ever get paid tend to fade away fast. Also I like to teach guitar bass & piano and have a method that brings students up fast.

Influences

I have performed and /or recorded with Ike Willis (Frank Zappa Band - 3 albums) Ella Fitzgerald, Bo Diddley, and Chubby Checker . Plus a whole bunch of folks that you probably never heard of but should..and those are the people that really influence me. Ever heard of Jeff Mezzrow? Didn't think so..I was in The Mezz. (He grew disgusted with the US music scene and lives in Berlin now, where you're pretty much guaranteed a living wage if you play music) Let's see here. I was the principal chair string bass player for the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra. Ike Willis, who was Frank Zappa's singer - check out his Selected Works album. I was in a punk band in Boston that came in second in the WBCN Rock 'n' Roll Rumble. I played jazz at the major European festivals. I've been in Latin bands and I've played boat gigs and did the circus. What do ya got?? Let's give it a whirl!
