ABOUT

Where are all the FUNKY MUSICIANS???
-Funk -Blues -RnB -Smooth Jazz (smooth jazz is really just funk & rnb for grown folks)

Looking to jam old school style in the San Fernando Valley. I got chops & I'm looking for real musicians who want to jam &/or collaborate & /or share a groove for the sake of the groove (maybe some live gigs if the vibe is right?)

Trade licks...
Share inspiration to create.
Create new tunes from an inspired moment.
Covering tunes would be cool... IF you know how to make it your own! (yeah, I do.)
Hit that pocket & groove...

If interested, maybe start a weekly jam session... I just love to play.
(uuh, NO stage hogs, pleaze! -play with, not on top.)

I play guitar (I dig rhythms, but I CAN play lead, too)
Don't play much from sheet music. I play my rhythms to make it tasty.
Vocals: lead, background
Can be frontman (good stage presence)
Production, Writing

I do have a day job (for now), so evenings & weekends, mostly.

Influences

Guitar influences....

IN MY EARLY PLAYING YEARS (before & during the gigs with the fam)
these cats were a big influence in my style:
• Wes Montgomery
• Phil Upchurch
• Grant Green
• Late night HeeHaw (that's some funky country!)

From the early years & into the next decade... Jazz/Blues+Country=FUNKY!
• 70s/80s Funk
• George Benson
• etc...

& INTO THE PRESENT
Here I am, an eclectic mix of the past and the present.

EQUIPMENT

• Main ax: Fender Strat & Tele
• Pedals (but I like to play pretty clean most of the time)
• Fender Twin Reverb w/JBLs, blackfaced 74 (for live gigs)
• Fender HRD 4x10 (for live gigs)
• & some other stuff for recording/writing
