Hi. My name is Rich, I'm a multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter. I'm looking for an Americana/R&B/Rock band or a drummer who connects with what I’m trying to do to join forces with. I've moved past being in band just to be in a band and now only desire to be in quality projects. Since I moved to Portland in 2020, I've spent most of my time writing and recording.

I also enjoy playing covers of music that make sense. I'm older (over 50), yet youthful and can channel my energy. I love to play out and share the musical vibe with other music lovers!

Playing locally once or twice a week is preferable. But I am willing and able to tour. I'm flexible on time and place for practices and willing to share in the cost of a rehearsal/recording space. Scaled down sessions could also take place in my home recording studio. I've got plenty of performing experience and open to different genres of music. : )

To save everybody's time, please be willing to provide recent samples of your music. Below are some of mine. Except for the first two which I produced using ProTools in June/July of 2023, the audio recordings are of recent practice sessions and were taken with an iPhone. They are raw and honest representations of my playing style, ability, and songwriting (please note the first couple of songs after the first two are my latest and the actual first demos so sound a bit loose and are works in progress). : )

Some of my influences are Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Allman Brothers, JJ Cale, Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead, Tom Petty, U2, Jack Johnson, Jack White, The Wood Brothers, Brothers Comatose, Devil Makes Three, Chris Stapleton, and roots blues, bluegrass, reggae, jazz and country music. But like a true music lover, rest assured I will find something I like about your musical tastes. Basically anything that is written and played well!

EQUIPMENT

I play a variety of acoustics and electric guitars. I’ve found lately that it doesn’t really matter what brand or how much an instrument costs, what matters is what kind of tone and how much musicality it has. That said, I do own pro gear to perform and tour with.
