ABOUT

[ ] My name is Germaine, I am drummer with over 20 years experience and many style variations vary in from ROCK, metal, grunge, speed metal, jazz, fusion, Latin, Brazilian Samba, disco, pop, new wave.

I started playing at the age of 7 beating on a broomstick which I had cut in half getting my mother upset at the time. I was in complete amazement at a band called Rush and their drummer Neal Pratt who would become my main influence in ROCK drumming. Along with *Led Zeppelin, **Judas Priest, Motley Crue, ***Ratt,Europe, Quiet Riot, Van Halen, Guns N Roses, ***Queens Ryche,****Dokken, **Scorpions, Def Lepperd, Bon Job I, **UFO, ****Iron Maiden, ***Dio,***Ozzy, *Alice in Chains,
***Dream Theater,***Triumph, ***White Snake, *****Journey,*Gary Moore, Bryan Adams, **Krokus, Marillion, Y&T, *Molly Hatchet, The Cult,
****Yngwye Malmsteem, **Sammy Hagar,* Great White,***Night Ranger, **38 Special, **Helloween,
*Metal Church, **Sting(Copeland) Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Metallica and some that I can't think of now.
As I evolved in drumming,I found jazz was a serious challenge and a different world altogether. Having added linear patterns and difficult rudiments and different styles from different jazz drummers like Krupa, Rich,Weckl, Erskine, Gadd, Cobham.
I am a big fan of big band jazz and classical music as well.

My original set is a 8 piece Pearl (Ferrari Red) with 22" bass drums( condensed to single bass drum and use a double bass pedal, 14" Yamaha snare, 14",15" mounted toms,16", 18" floor time.
Also use 6",8",10" rototoms. For cymbals I use 14"Paiste hihats, Zildjian8",10"splash,Paiste 16",18" crash and Sabian 20" China and ride. Double bass pedals are Pearl. Also play a Pearl Cajon which I use to play at acoustic gigs and for Peruvian music. Also use LP bongos for salsa.

Lately I have been trying to emulate styles of speed metal drummers in bands such as Meshugga, Mastodon, Arch Enemy. Seems like the sky's the limit now with speed, accuracy and style.

I am looking to start or join a tribute or top 40 rock band. I am a medical professional and so I do have a real job and can practice one day during the week and Saturday or Sundays for gigs. I am responsible and would like to join band with others who have similarbstyles or likes to make some great music. I may also add that I can adapt to any style and band situation that I am in, I don't judge and respect fellow musicians and their points of view. I can practice on a whim and luckily my career allows me to adapt to bands schedule.
