I'm a singer and lead guitarist originally from the east coast looking to put together something UNIQUE here. My last band was an Irish rock/punk rock band that was able to gig extensively and do well given that we were able to tap into a niche.
My current style is similar, but I also play an uptempo bluegrass style of lead, so alt country/punk is kind of the vibe. This sets it apart from the Flogging Molly (no guitar solos) and Dropkick Murphys (blues solo stuff) in my opinion, and is so much FUN to play because people bounce around and GET INTO IT live.
After playing acoustic solo for a while, I would like to start a band. I've played 15 open mics (and busked on a pier) over the last couple of weeks and have been met with a great response.
I am NOT interested in paying someone to practice, and until we get established, I wouldn't expect it would be 100% paid gigs. I'm just being upfront. But in my experience, this type of music leads to a lot of opportunities because we'll stand out and won't blend in with the other normal genres. And it's super FUN and energetic to play! (I've played more wild shows and got more audience interaction with my last project doing this stuff back east than any pop punk band or cover band I was ever in. By leaps and f'n bounds.)
Also looking for fiddle, mandolin players, other guitarists. If this style touches your soul, hit me up!
Please check out my songs and hit me up.
Thanks.
