Hello. ShardsofEyeglass was made to be a post rock band. That being said, the 3 current members come from several different backgrounds of music, as well as interests. If you don't know what Post rock is, just know that it tends to be full of ambient music.
Alexander has a background of jazz and blues growing up, quickly adapting to alt rock, punk, and later on metal, but has always been a fan of game music, chiptunes, and other electronica type stuff.
Justin mainly grew up with classic rock and modern pop-rock. After joining a school symphonic band, appreciation of classical developed. Nowadays, main influences include metal, game music, ambient and alternative with some jazz.
Ben has been into mainstream pop before he started to play guitar. Upon starting to play he has almost exclusively engaged into extreme metal, but has had some jazz and blues training on his instrument. He has also recently made forays into progressive.

We have many influences, but a few of the ones we draw inspiration for when it comes to ShardsofEyeglass are:
65DaysofStatic, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosions in the Sky, Iron Maiden, Mono, Crow'sclaw, other game music soundtracks as well as other rock and metal bands.
