The Bar Tones are a good rock & roll cover band that plays a wide variety of music. We play for our own enjoyment but also do around 10 gigs per year at local places like the Hilltop Crab House near Hockessin. We rehearse several times a month on weekday evenings or weekends in Landenberg, PA in a residential basement where we can leave our gear set up.

We've been together for about 25 years. We've got a lead vocalist, guitar, keys and bass. The vocalist is in her early 30s, the rest of us are in our 50s and 60s.

We're looking for a talented drummer who has volume control. We like to rock out but we also play some songs that need a light hand on the skins so we can hear vocal harmonies.

Influences

We have a set list of about 40 songs. Our repertoire includes The Stones, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Dylan, Van Morrison, Grateful Dead, The Band, Tom Petty, Joe Cocker, Allman Brothers, Beatles, and Steely Dan. As well as less familiar names like Gin Blossoms, Dave Alvin, John Hiatt, Patti Smith and Georgia Satellites. Plus our favorite obscure artist, Darrell Scott.

We like to learn new songs and recently added Miranda Lambert's Mama's Broken Heart and Amy Winehouse's Valerie.
