ABOUT

Saying 'trip hop" is too easy and not quite what I am going for...but it is definitely the first place to start:

Have you ever thought it would be cool to be the modern, hypnotic, sultry, dreamy, “less is more” group playing after hours while folks chill with their last drinks of the evening? If so, This is your dispatch from elsewhere, courtesy of the Jejune institute. ;)

I am hoping to find some local folks who want to try this in a focused, fun-but-also goal oriented way. The goal would be to write 3-5 originals for an EP over a 3 month period, and in parallel work up 6-8 covers of things like: massive attack(teardrop, what your soul sings, dissolved girl)), zero 7(in the waiting line, destiny), Gus Gus, FC Kahuna(hayling), phaeleh(the cold in you), the acid(ghost) etc etc. tight little 60 minute “after hours set with the originals mixed in. I have a lot of experience from 15 years as a pro/semi pro(depending on the gig) in Nashville, so working backwards from the above goal is well known territory for me.

“late night electronic/trip hop/lounge” is what I will call the vibe. and it’s just that, a vibe vs an exact style.

I am seeking mainly a female vocalist, and also would be interested in drums/bass or an existing jazz/rnb oriented three piece rhythm section that wanted to branch into artful electronic/organic layering.
