I played guitar in the Phily hard rock band Fusion for seven years from 2001-2008. I was the main song writer and handled all our booking and web-site updates. You can check out some of the songs at /fusion.
I am looking to start a new project that is very different sound wise from what I did before and is also very different in the way it is approached.
The songs I am working on are singer song writer acoustic with a jazz and blues influence. The jazz and blues influence does not manifest itself directly as we will not be playing any basic blues songs or covers. The goal is to be innovative in song writing while remaining catchy and adding a groove not normally heard in acoustic music. I am looking primarily for another guitar player who can sing or just a great singer. I am open to a keyboard player as well.
Being in a band can be very difficult especially when you have four to six people fighting about the direction of the songs. The approach I would like to take this time around is focus on song writing with one partner. Develop really great songs and play small acoustic shows and then possibly put a full band together.
I am a skilled song writer and know a lot about the industry. My previous band was played on wysp and wmmr and right before we disbanded we were in talks with Jon Feldman (producer of the used, atreyu, etc.) about getting signed/him being our producer.
I am interested in jamming with various people to find someone I would really gel with. You don't have to be a musical genius as I am definitely not. However, if you are very inexperienced especially as a guitar player and haven't ever played shows or recorded in a real studio this is not the project for you.
I have been working very hard at developing my voice and going through lessons, learning how to change registers and increase my range. I think I have a good basic tone but I am definitely not yet at the caliber of what I would want in a front man.

Influences
I am a hard rock/progressive/ post hardcpre guy at heart and I draw a lot of my writing from that spectrum. In my acoustic work, I use a lot of minor and fifth chords rather than your typical D, A, G type progressions.
As far as influences for this specific project:
City and Colour, Eye Alaska, Lydia, Jonny Craig, Hall and Oates,
Miles Davis, Radiohead, Brand New, Anchor and Braille
EQUIPMENT
I have a jackson flying V electric and a marshall amp, line six pod as my main setup when I played in a full band.
I have an acoustic electric ibanez and an old Taylor that is on its last legs.
