As of late 2022, The Outer 40 is a 3-piece band based in San Francisco. We have a lead vocalist, Kathy, who also occasionally plays melodica, harmonica, vibraslap, tambourine and recently picked up mandolin; Matt plays acoustic and electric guitars, ukulele, as well as vocals; and Bruce plays drums and other pecussion. We primarily play covers of our own interpretation of songs that are not necessarily "top 40", but rather "outer 40" hence one meaning and significans of our band name.
