Interested in starting an acoustic group, with one of 3 scenarios:
(1) Mostly doing Beck covers with some other material thrown in here and there.
(2) Mostly doing Barenaked Ladies covers with some other material thrown in here and there. If it were. both Barenaked Ladies and Beck together, would it be BnB?
(3) Doing a variety of music including Beck, Barenaked Ladies, Stephen Malkmus, STP, Barenaked Ladies, Bowie, White Stripes...
I would love to work with just about any other instrumentation/vocals. BNL has a lot of keyboard and accordion, which would be a perfect complement to what I do.
I like the idea of mashups and the unexpected, along with some humor and improv. It would be great to throw is some weird electronic and experimental stuff with the acoustic pieces.
I am starting to play open-mics again on my own, so I'd like to start out doing open mics with people and evolve from there, i.e. start out simple and expand.
I used to be in a classic-rock style band and I can do that stuff with electric and acoustic guitar, but my voice lends itself better to stuff like I mentioned above.
