UPDATE: we have found our guitar player! And not by way of this app. Worth a try, but a bit useless for us…I have no idea why my profile shows us looking for anyone other than guitar player.
Four piece band that has lost our guitar player and primary songwriter, now formerly known as Dead Kampers. Instrumental band rooted in instrumental surf, with a lot of latitude toward other genres such as jazz, punk, dub, ska. Like most bands in surf the genre we are a mix of originals and covers—with a very fun taste and sophistication in song choices and arrangements; Women actually come to our shows. The hot mom scene. Drums, electric guitar, electric bass and electric upright bass and tenor / baritone saxophone. A bit of melodica as well. Really great group of guys, we all get along well, all pull equal weight and show up prepared. Always learning new songs and having fun refining the arrangements. We were rehearsing once a week, which we’d like to resume. We were hitting about one local show a month, with one or two “tourettes” a year (weekend tours). This was where we were comfortable as a commitment level. We also have an incredibly nice rehearsal and recording space, it is a professional studio.
We’re looking for an accomplished guitar player, with at least decent theory knowledge. Tremolo style and palm muting skills a strong plus. Fender Jazzmaster, Jag or Strat preferred as well as Fender amps. Not required to know the surf genre, none of use knew it before we started playing it. Songwriting skills a strong plus.
