Band to Join.

ABOUT

I am a 46 year old trans woman looking for a band to play with casually (serious if there is potential) in Ventura County, CA. I've been a semi-professional musician since I was 16 (35 years). I've toured the US five times. I've peformed on over 10 records and produced about 15 (links below). I have a three octave range, am superb at writing and arranging harmonies, and am an excellent mimic (I can sound however the song is best served). I am proficient/pro at synthesizers, guitar, bass, and vocals, but I am only looking to either play bass or sing backups at present. (I can play a little of something else here and there and I'm not afraid to multitask). I am an excellent songwriter and collaborator, but I don't want the pressure of being the principle songwriter right now. I just want to join a cool band that's doing cool chill psychedelic stoney stuff - preferably something loungy, jazzy, and on the quiet side of things. I have a malleable schedule and can make myself fully available for the right outfit.

Links to songs I wrote and played on that aren't uploaded to my profile

You Are - The Body Electric

I wrote all the music, most of the lyrics, and performed all the instruments except the guitar and the vocals. I produced it as well. This single was released in September 2023. The full album will be released on October 13, 2023.

Moonlight Hyundai Sonata (sh*t Just Got Real) - Sunstang

s://music./watch?v=k5OK7aVhuFs&si=pIsFIlDRnsRcK

This was a collaboration with producer Ian Stenseng. I wrote the lyrics, performed all the vocals, and co-produced the record. This was pre-transition, so my voice is very masc. It is much more femme now, but I am still capable of going here.

The Rally - Glass Elevator

s://music./watch?v=-HAyOKGruwg&si=loMtQX8aVS3_rfgZ

I wrote this song, sang lead, played acoustic guitar/rhythm electric guitar/synths and co-produced it. This song won Song of the Year (judges pick) at the Olympia Music Awards in 2010. Glass Elevator is the band I was in the longest and was most dedicated to. We existed from 2002 - 2014. We will be releasing a posthumous album near the end of this year.

EQUIPMENT

Nothing but my voice and my charming personality.

My mother died abrubtly and I had to leave in a hurry. I have some gear stashed in Washington State that I could have shipped to me if I needed it including:

1972 Fender Twin Reverb Amplifier
Epiphone Les Paul
Boss GT-1000 FX
Arturia Analog Lab 64 Controller
Acoustica Mixcraft and the full suite of Slate Digital plugins

I've got a steel string acoustic if you need me to prove myself, and I'm willing to throw down for a bass guitar if I need to, but for starters I'm just going to show up.
