What's shaking everyone,
My name is Yannick Cale, I'm a drummer from Central Canada. Kirkland Lake, Ontario to be more specific. I've been playing drums for about 9 years, and have been self-thought up to this point with the exception of a couple years of studying with a great cat named Jeff Asselin, from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Music has always been my life, and the drums my passion. I've really turned a new leaf by making the move down to Hollywood to pursuit 4 months of drum education at Musicians Institute and also took it upon myself to seek private instruction on the side with the legendary Frank Brigg's based out of North Hollywood.

I'm not here to fu*k around, and although I've got miles to go on my instrument, I'm extremely loyal to anyone serious about their instrument, their craft and their art. I'll put my heart soul and creativity to any project I come across in which has the power to speak to me and will not shy away from any opportunity that may come from sinking my teeth into whatever it is I'm doing.

I'm not here for the longest of time, but I'm currently looking for ways to prolong my stay, Los Angeles has already gripped my heart and isn't letting go.

As far as my style, I've always been a groover, all about serving the band and the music first, making people dance and playing as TIGHT and EFFECTIVE as possible. I'm very open minded when it comes to new music, artists and genres, as I tend to have an appreciation for most everything in life. It's just the way I choose to view the world. (with the exception of TOP 40, ELECTRONIC, DUB-STEP and similar genres, they really grind my fu*king gears)

I'm a sucker for a hook, a catchy melody and instrumental/vocal harmonies. I love: Blues, R&B, Hip-Hop, Rock, Classic Rock, Psychedelic genres, World Music, Jazz and Instrumental Fusion as well as European Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic and other World Music from the 1600-1800's.

THE BIGGEST REASON FOR MY MOVING HERE (BESIDES BECOMING REALLY PROFICIENT WITH MY INSTRUMENT) IS TO NETWORK, MEET SOME AMAZING MUSICIANS, PLAY LIVE AND BREAK OUT OF MY SHELL, PERFORMANCE WISE AND SOCIALLY. I'm not awkward, I just realize I need to deepen my relationship skills and can't think of a better way to do it then through these means.

I'm also really good with words, writing lyrics, very poetic and hippy like minded at most times.
