ABOUT

Hello my name is Zack. I'm a recent transplant having just moved to Tacoma WA. from Colorado where I was born & raised. I've been playing drums & percussion for 33+ years. I started off taking lessons from Bob Rupp (Rupps Drums Denver). Around age 11 I started listening to Metallica & Slayer & at age 12, I won the Prosound Drumwars for the 12 & under age group category. At age 13 my older sister introduced me to Pink Floyd & a band called the Grateful Dead. I was lucky enough to see Jerry play more than 50 shows before he passed away in 95. I've always been a huge RUSH FAN!!! In my early 20s I became heavily influenced by Jazz drummers such as Gene Krupa, Freddy Gruber, Joe Morello, & Daniel Glass. Around that time I had friends who started DJing & was also influenced by early techno-Drum & Bass. I can play any beat I hear & can nail most top 40 songs by take 3 at the latest! Thank you Z.T.
