ABOUT

Coming off a 2 year classic cover rock gig where we play out frequently, but the music is just getting long in the tooth and it's time for a change.

Looking to either start a new band that aspires to play out monthly-ish, or join an established band that is gigging. I'm looking for people with good chops and serious enough to practice on their own and come together prepared so that we can make progress quickly and put together several sets of really fun music. And have fun while practicing vs learning our parts during practice.

Also, a must-have is a great front man/front woman. I've seen so many great bands where they don't have an engaging front person, and it really hurts the overall energy. Gotta be able to ham it up!

I've played drums for >40 years. Have taught, toured, and played in bands ranging from high school bands, to wedding bands, to frat bands, to blues bands, funk bands, to classic cover rock bands in large clubs opening for headliners, etc.

I’m looking for a group of skilled players that want to play some fun cover music. Not interested in writing or joining an originals band. The goal is to have a few sets of really great fun music and play out and have everybody in the club loving it, dancing etc.

If you're interested, pls reach out.

Influences

All over the map. I love all of the rock and funk of the 70s and 80s, as well as a lot of the 90s alternative music. Not a huge fan of pop music or anything computerized.

For artists, in no particular order: Beatles, 311, Aerosmith, RHCP, Zeppelin, Stones, Police, Van Morrison, J Geils, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Floyd, KOL, SRV, The Who, Clash, Clapton, Bob Marley, Radiohead, Petty, U2, Weezer, STP, Doors, Allman Bros, Sublime, Bowie, REM, Simple Minds, Killers, Green Day, Bad Co, Boston, Dire Straits, Isley Bros, Springsteen, Jack White/Raconteurs/Stripes, Dirty Heads, Phish, Coldplay, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, etc. Very difficult to nail this down. The list goes on and on.

When it comes to playing out, my philosophy is, lots of songs are fun to play as musicians, but don't get the crowds going. Sometimes you have to sell out to get into certain clubs and please the patrons.

Know your audience. I'm looking to break into the Boston and Metro West bar scene, particularly the more popular live band venues.
