Influences
Brought up on Pink Floyd and Steely Dan, to young for the Doors and the Stones in their prime but appreciative of them all the same. Moved into to eclectic mix of New Wave (never really connected with Punk but went through the motions) Talking Heads, Blondie, Tears for Fears, Gary Numan, Simple Minds, EBTG, Jazz, Acid Jazz. House music but also Brand X, National Health, Bill Bruford but also Japan and later David Sylvian but also 4AD and Howard Jones and Scritti Polliti and The Furs and The Jam but also Genesis and the production aesthetics of the 80's and 90's - Julia Fordham, Lisa Stansfield, Annie Lennox, EBTG - became disillusioned and disconnected with the dominance of rap but reconnected more recently with The Decemberists and Adele and Shawn Colvin and Wilco and other talented songwriters.
