ABOUT

FIRST OFF: If you listen to any of these audio files I uploaded.. USE HEADPHONES. This audio SUCKS... but they have been recorded live at various times in various places, and they are only here so people can get an idea of the variety of stuff we play.. not to set a "sound quality" record.

OK.. that said: I play folk, rock, R&R, country, rock a' billy, R&B, southern rock, pop, blues, 50's & 60's maverick stuff, bluegrass, and a lot of original music. Lead & rhythm guitar, mandolin, Ukulele, dobro, mandola, steel, 5 sting banjo, standard and blues harps. Have written over 100 originals in above genres. Played over 1,000 hours on stage with dozens of great musicians both in and out of bands.

I've had the pleasure of playing with the likes of: Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs, Bill Monroe, Allison Krauss, Doc Watson, Barry McGuire, Dave Samuelson, Muddy Waters, Trilly Cole, and more great musicians over the years, all of which means absolutely nothing other than the fact that "I've been around, learned a lot, and paid my musicians dues." just like we all must if we're gonna persist and improve our craft.

I've played at a multitude of parties, events, festivals, benefits, county fairs, bluegrass and blues jams, and in bars and private clubs from Indianapolis to Niles Michigan, from Chicago to South Bend Indiana over the past 10 years, even played a weekly music show on TV a few years back.

Now I'm just looking for like minded experienced musicians who love to kick back and Jam.. maybe rack up a few Gigs, write some original stuff, burn a few CD's and publish some original stuff. I'm not looking to form a full time band, book heavy schedules, or travel all over the country. but I am looking for experienced talent... (not learners or wanna bee's)..who like to keep it simple, keep it clean (no druggies or drunks), and keep it FUN with no drama.

So.. If you like to Jam.. maybe play a few live gigs with some talented guys once in awhile, and are a good keyboard player, Drummer, Bass player, rhythm and lead guitar player, harp player, lap steel or dobro player, fiddle player, mandolin player, or someone who can kick out good vocals, can improvise, and span a variety of genres of music you might be a good fit. If you're "multi talented".. Even Better!

Oh yeah.. last thing: If you don't have a great sense of humor and can't laugh at yourself.. as well as the rest of us.. then don't bother... or get me direct ... billmeyer2000 at g mail dot com if you want to connect.

So.. That's the story! Thanx!

Influences

Far to many to mention, but I do not imitate or emulate other musicians. I have my own style.

I do NOT like to play Old Whining, crying, gut wrenching "put em' to sleep" old style country stuff. I've played way to much of that over the years. Rock a billy, or hard country rock is fine. But if you're really into old Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, type stuff as your "main squeeze" then we are not gonna jive.
