ABOUT

Longtime Livermore based band, LunaFish is currently seeking a guitar player and a keyboardist. This could be two people or one extremely talented multi-instrumentalist. We have a lead singer but vocals are a bonus.A little about the band...Established in 2007, we have been playing steadily, mostly in Livermore due to the abundance of wineries, beer gardens, and the like. We've done everything from a two week tour of Northern Germany, to live theater shows, to private parties as well. Our schedule the past several years has been very busy (up to 10 gigs a month) but we are looking to slow down some moving forward (2 to 3 a month).Our wheelhouse has always been the classic rock of the late 60's and early to mid 70's. Think everything from Beatles to Bowie and Zeppelin to Zappa. We strive to dig a little deeper than what other bands are playing. Currently we aren't opposed to branching out a bit. A good tune is a good tune no matter when it was written. We also have several original tunes we'd like to work into the live show. We do a different set list for each show to keep things fresh. Some of it overlaps, but never the same show twice. We treat this band as a family. Our current lineup has known each other for many years. We look after each other. We share the workload. We laugh with (and sometimes at) each other. You get the idea. We are a 420/light alcohol friendly band but we know our limits and NEVER get sloppy on stage.We rehearse weekly in Livermore and have gigs on the books. Song lists are available for anyone interested.Most importantly, we share a mutual love of music. There is no feeling greater than creating a beautiful sound together.
A little about you...You obviously should be able to play your instrument skillfully and have pro gear and attitude.You MUST be cool! We're not talking about leather and shades cool. You must be a cool human. Respectful, even keeled, fun to have around, and able to take a joke. No drama!You must be willing to do your homework when learning new material. Practicing songs is done at home. Rehearsing songs is done with the band after everyone has learned their parts on their own. Sure, there will be issues to iron out at rehearsal, but the bulk of the work should be done at home so when we come together, we polish it up and get it gig ready.You must be open to a degree of jamming. Extending a solo section if the crowd is digging it, or stretching out an ending if the people are dancing.No hard drugs or heavy drinkers please.
