ABOUT

I am the principal artist at TaAmim Music, a 501c3 non-profit ministry, part of Artists In Christian Testimony (ACTInternational; a mission board/sending agency for Christian musicians/artists).

I am a mostly retired, Accounting/IT professional but I do work part-time and current seminary student pursuing a Master of Arts in Apologetics (Wesleyan theology).

I am first and foremost a vocalist although I am re-learning six-string acoustic guitar (after having put it down for almost 40 years) and I’m learning violin with a professional teacher. I have an excellent tenor singing voice with a wide vocal range and generally find it easy to harmonize by ear. Most of my performance experience has been as a worship leader at congregations I have been part of and with providing music/entertainment for churches, long-term care, memory care and similar facilities using a variety of both Christian and secular pieces covering pieces from the 1940s through 1970s.

Veteran (US Navy 1973-1981 and Tennessee State Guard 2003-2014). I grew in Ohio but lived for almost 30 years in Nashville, TN; relocating back to South-Central Ohio in the spring of 2021.

I would like to find a band/group to be part of for weekend gigs, get-togethers, and similar appearances. Also, looking for those who enjoy nursing home ministry or would like to see what it's like and could come with me now and then/whenever scheduling worked. Most of the facilities I do for free but some of the larger facilities do pay and I'd be more than happy to share the fees received.

EQUIPMENT

INSTRUMENTS: Two acoustic guitars (Taylor 214 and GS mini) and a very modest violin. In my early years I was an excellent tenor trombonist, but I don't currently own one (although I've been considering buying a decent one).

SOUND SYST: Bose S1 Pro, and Shure SM58 etc. I switch between putting tracks on iTunes and/or using Dropbox for tracks.

I have mostly just used backing tracks but am now working on playing guitar to at least some of the pieces I perform.
