I am a singer-songwriter currently recording an EP of original material with the help of a producer and another instrumentalist.
I am currently looking for musicians to become a part of my live band to support that material once it is released, which will hopefully be in the first half of the summer.
In particular I am looking to develop a close working relationship with a guitarist to be my core performing (and possibly, in the future, writing) partner--someone with whom I could do small, acoustic gigs in addition to full band performances, and who could help me direct a band that otherwise might have a rotating cast (but might not).
As for other instrumentalists, I am currently open both a "regular band member" approach and a "gun-for-hire" approach. What it comes down to is that I'm looking for some serious musicians who can get behind what I'm doing and contribute to what should be a really fun pursuit.
My lyrics and motivation are rooted in a Christian worldview, but I can't stand most contemporary Christian music. With my recorded material, I'm pursuing a sort of hip hop/electronic-tinted rock direction, a la OneRepublic, Mat Kearney's Young Love album, Matt & Kim, Ed Sheeran, and Sugar Ray.

"Haunted Machine"
"Haunted Machine" Genre: Electronic
I wrote this song with my old roommate. He composed and recorded all the backing music; I wrote the lyrics and melody and sang the vocal part. This is probably more electronic in style than I would want the band to be, although I wouldn't mind being kind of close to this with a sort of Mutemath vibe. I do feel though that this is a good display of my lyric-writing and vocal abilities. The lyrics are basically about the themes of body and mind/body and spirit, particularly focusing on clashes between Greek/gnostic thought and Christian thought on the body and the spirit in the second verse. Also, I don't mind rare usage of swear words if I think they fit (and this was one of those rare cases) but I also wouldn't mind not using any swear words in my lyrics if that's something you feel strongly about.
