I am a vocalist from Youngstown, Ohio. I am looking for a pop or pop/rock band to join. I am 24 years old. I would like to admit I am heavy into the pop music. I do like some country, some rock, a decent bit or rap and r&b but mainly pop or pop/rock. I'm hoping to make something out of this and not only just for fun but to get signed, get a record contract, do tours and shows and the whole 9 yards. I don't have too much experience at all. I've tried out for bands, done karaoke, sent an accapella recording of me, with my karaoke machine, into a record company and haven't recieved anything in return whether it be good or bad, I've tried getting my own band started and nothing came of it. I'm asking for a break or any info anyone could give on how and where I can get started. I've been told by many people I have a very good singing voice (lol friends and family don't count as many people) these were total strangers at karaoke. Influences
Some of my influences are.....yes some are boy bands such as Backstrret, N-sync and 98 degrees. Others might include Jimmy Eat World, Maroon 5, Simple Plan and Bowling for Soup. Or even the females such as Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey, Pink, and Christina Aguilera....etc.
EQUIPMENT
I do have a keyboard, a PA system, and an electric Guitar w/amp.
