I have been a working musician since I was in high school in the late 70's. I am professional, committed, and very dependable. I don't drink on the job and love the "show" of performing live. I have played all genres of music. I have spent the most time in the jazz/big band genre being a band director for 17 years and directing and drumming in The Community Jazz Center Big Band in Des Moines, Iowa. You can see many live performances searching be with that name. I have also lead, sang lead and backup, and played bass in a very good 9-piece contemporary worship band for two years at the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, Iowa. At this church, I also frequently played drums in different bands. I have very good chops playing rhythm guitar as well. I am a reader of music as well as chord sheets and can play by ear very well. I am an avid arranger of music for the orchestras that I teach and have a serious interest in composing and arranging for cinema.
