ABOUT

I am looking to perform out 6 to 12 nights per month locally with moderate travel. Recently with the Donna Duncan Band performing R&B. Previously with GrooveStation a commercial dance band performing dance music for club, corporate, private, festival and wedding gigs. I have done all types of gigs from Country with the Jukebox Cowboys and Steppin' Out the house band at the Palomino, Rock & Roll, R&B, Funk, Blues and Vegas floor shows. I have traveled throughout the USA and abroad performing in venues ranging from free standing night clubs, casinos, theme parks, state fairs to biker bars and lounges. I strive to always bring my best to all performances and rehearsals. I describe myself as a "base" player while aspiring to be melodically & harmonically creative and solid. I have good independence for delivering rhythmically complicated bass lines while singing or vice versa. I consider my vocal strengths are better suited for backing vocals and harmonies but I am used to covering approx. 20% of the lead vocals if required. I am available for local work or travel. Also, I have a long technical background in sound reinforcement and electrical engineering. I am looking for serious professional situation. (704) 867-9441, jtbarhamcarolina.rr

EQUIPMENT

My main instrument is my Dingwall 5 string. I also have a "hot rod" Ibanez 5 string. My stage rig is adjustable depending on venue size and gig requirements. For most gigs I use my GK 4x10" cabinet with Tech 21 tube emulator/preamp and Crown amplifier. I also have a powered modular JBL 18" woofer with 1KW Crown power and a JBL EON 315 modular cabinet with 15" speaker and bi-radial horn. I have Electrovoice N/D767a and Shure SM57 dynamic vocal mics. I use the JBL gear for PA in small rooms. I have an Elation and ADJ LED lighting system also used for gigs in small to medium rooms. Also, cables, stands cases and rigging for everything. For recording requirements I utilize Sonar & Roland V-Studio 100 control surface and Presonus tube preamp..
