I'm a heavy metal guitarist and songwriter, and I write and have recordings of my own songs (without vocals, I can't write those). I'm into extended range. I own a 7-string guitar, I'm looking to get an 8-string very soon, and all of my music is written on an 8-string guitar; the tuning from low to high is E B E A D F# B E. Sometimes I raise the bass E to an F#, and sometimes (rarely though) I drop the low B to a low A. It's hard for me to find other musicians, because few other guitarists like to use or have 8-strings, and don't like all the music I do. I draw influences from almost all aspects of metal (except metalcore). I need a drummer who can do very complex rhythms, and a vocalist who can go from beautiful clean lyrics (like Deftones) to somewhat harsh vocals (like Megadeth or even Slipknot) to extreme screaming (like Job for a Cowboy and Lamb of God) to intense low growls/squeals (like Oceano and Whitechapel).

EQUIPMENT

Currently have a nice 7-string Schecter with the EMG '81 and '85 setup, looking to get an Ibanez RGA8 soon and put in Seymour Duncan Blackouts and a tone knob or maybe a killswitch. I have a Peavey modeling amp that I get a very good, thick tone out of, for lows and highs. It's only 30watts, but it goes up to thirteen and my parents complain on two, which I normally have it on 1.5 and it's pretty loud.
